one thing in common. They effectively killed the need to revisit the
material.
The Godfather 3 had one thing in it's favor. And that is the signature
line of the movie. Do you remember the line?... "Just when i thought i
was out. They pull me back in." Though the movie wasn't as fluid as
the first one. I am definitely willing to give it a pass on this list.
Despite what some would call a failed add on.
But these next two movies pissed me off something awful. As a matter
of fact. One of them left me stunned and motionless after the end
credits. If i had gasoline and a match at the time i might have done
something wicked to the projector.
i'm almost torn between Matrix 3 and Alien 3. Because Alien 3 starts
off with a debilitating self inflicted wound that is so painful to
watch. It's crippling. it is not often that a movie starts out by
wiping out the best parts of the second movie before the opening
credits end.Effectively killing the entire movie within a mere 10
minutes. That's a feat in of itself. And the sad part is the next 100+
minutes are worse. Including the ending... God awful.
But, For my money Matrix 3 was a towering disappointment, that won't
be eclipsed even if the Dark Knight Rises doesn't deliver. Because the
Matrix was something almost totally original, unique and exotic. The
failure of Matrix 3 in my opinion was that the directors(if you can
call them such) underestimated their target audience. This cardinal
sin accompanied by the fact that a significant amount of time elapses
while the main characters are m.i.a. And the matrix itself(the very
title of the movie: the meat and potatoes)? Is barely even shown. The
final fight is ok. But the only things this sequel did right was the
design of the opening logo and the pulsing score. The rest is
incomprehensible.
What do you think? What is your pick for worst part 3 ever?
